Nina Owcharenko is a member of President-elect Trump’s HHS Landing Team and director of the Center for Health Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation. In this role, she oversees the center’s work on healthcare reform, Medicare, Medicaid, children’s health and prescription drugs. Owcharenko served as a congressional staffer for close to 10 years. She began her Capitol Hill career in the office of the late Sen. Jesse Helms (R-NC). She was legislative director to Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint when he was a member of the House of Representatives as well as to former Rep. Sue Myrick (R-SC). She holds a bachelor’s in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
