Art Lipson

Mr. Arthur David Lipson, Art, is the Principal at Western Investment, LLC. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer at Trade Order Management Solutions, Inc. Mr. Lipson founded Western Investment, LLC. His first employment, in 1965, was as a Mathematical Computer Programmer. Mr. Lipson began his career on Wall Street as a Quantitative Equity Analyst with Goldman, Sachs in 1968 and in 1969 transferred into fixed income securities. He went on to manage fixed income research departments at Kuhn, Loeb; Lehman Brothers, and Paine Webber and was responsible for credit, mortgage, municipal and quantitative research, risk management, and hedging. Mr. Lipson managed the corporate bond trading desk at Kuhn, Loeb. He created the Lehman Brothers Bond Index in 1973. He serves as a Director of Pioneer Municipal and Equity Income Trust. Mr. Lipson has been a Director of MCG Capital Corporation since June 2010. He has degrees in Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and Columbia University.
