Simon Grigorievich Kukes serves as General Director of ZAO Samara-Nafta. Dr. Kukes served as a Member of Management Board of YUKOS Corp. since June 2003. He served as the Chairman of Management Board of YUKOS Corp. since June 2003. He served as Chief Executive of Yukos from 2003 to June 2004. Dr. Kukes served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tyumen Oil Company from 1998 to 2003. From 1979 to 1998, Dr. Kukes held top management positions with Phillips Petroleum and Amoco Oil. Dr. Kukes is one of the most well known figures in the Russian oil industry. He first worked at YUKOS as Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Trading from 1996 to 1998, and returned to YUKOS Corp. From 1987 to 1996, Dr. Kukes worked at Amoco Oil in Chicago and Moscow as Vice President, Downstream. Earlier, he served as a Technical Director for Phillips Petroleum from 1979 to 1987. He serves as Chairman of the Board of YUKOS Oil Company a subsidiary of YUKOS Corp. He served as a Research Associate at the Academy of Sciences through 1976. He served as a Director of Closed Joint Stock Company PROMSTROI GROUP. He served as a Director of YUKOS Corp. He served as a Director of Tyumen Oil Company. He served as a Director of ChronTech Pharma AB (now known as Fastilium Property Group AB) from August 19, 2011 to March 28, 2013. He served as a Director of Parker Drilling Co. from July 2000 to November 5, 2003. He served as Amarin Corporation plc from January 24, 2005 to May 23, 2008. In 1999, he was voted one of the Top 10 Central European Executives by the Wall Street Journal Europe and in 2003 he was named by The Financial Times and PricewaterhouseCoopers as one of the 64 most respected business leaders in the world. He is the holder of more than 130 patents and has published more than 60 scientific papers. He is a Member of the Council of Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kukes holds 130 US patents and is the author of over 60 scholarly publications. In 1970 he graduated from D. Mendeleev's Moscow chemical-engineering university. In 1974, he took degree in physical and chemical science in Russian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Kukes has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow of Rice University, Houston, Texas from 1977 to 1979.
