Jacquelyn Soffer

A luxury retail visionary, Jackie Soffer has been a vital part of Turnberry Associates’ extraordinary growth and success. Her leadership includes the company’s retail, hospitality and office divisions, notably its globally-renowned, Aventura Mall, one of the top-grossing shopping centers in the United States. Soffer has been instrumental in bringing some of the world’s most renowned, discerning, first-to-market retailers to Aventura Mall, transforming the shopping center into one of the country’s premier fashion destinations. Retailer additions include a flagship Louis Vuitton Maison, as well as boutiques from Givenchy, Cartier, Burberry, Fendi, Tiffany & Co., Bally, Emilio Pucci and more. Currently, Soffer is overseeing another Aventura Mall expansion – a new three-level, 315,000 square-foot retail wing expected to open in late 2017. Defined by eye-catching architecture and site-specific installations from world-renwoned artists, the wing will include several destination restaurants, more than three dozen retail stores, a new food hall with indoor/outdoor seating, a rooftop terrace, and VIP concierge area. In 2014, Soffer completed a 100,000 square-foot expansion of Turnberry Associates’ award-winning Destin Commons, which has set the standard for open-air lifestyle centers in Northwest Florida. In 2007, Soffer unveiled Town Square Las Vegas, a 1.5 million-square-foot super regional lifestyle center located on the Las Vegas Strip. Under her leadership, Turnberry has broken ground on a joint venture with LeFrak to develop a 184-acre site along Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami, which will include SoLē Mia Mainstreet, a 1.4 million-square foot planned lifestyle center with shopping, restaurants, parks, an educational center and other world-class amenities. Soffer also is actively involved in the continued enhancement of Fontainebleau Miami Beach, one of the world’s top destination resorts, as well as Turnberry Isle Miami, a 300-acre, Mediterranean retreat. Turnberry Associates’ hotel and resort division also includes the Four-Diamond Hilton Nashville Downtown and a new JW Marriott Nashville, set to open in Music City in 2018. Soffer serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Washington Prime Group, a premier retail real estate investment trust with a portfolio of 120 enclosed regional malls and open-air lifestyle community centers. Soffer is a Board Member of Fontainebleau Miami Beach; a member of the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; and a Member of the Board of Advisors and the Founder’s Council for Pine Crest School, Fort Lauderdale.
