Shane Cohn is a Democratic Alderman for the 25th District in St. Louis City with progressive experience in Human Resources operations. He also is a board member for the Downtown Dutchtown Business Association, Dutchtown South Community Corporation, and has previously served on the board of NCCJ, where he was also the Director of Development and Community Affairs. He has also worked as a Human Resources Generalist for Citigroup Inc. (2003-2008), a Committee Member for Pride St. Louis Inc (2004-2006), a Human Resources Specialist for CitiMortgage, Inc. (2000-2003), and a Clerk for Newman, Goldfar, Helfrey $ Gamache (1997-1998). Coming from a mostly Conservative and Republican family, Cohn came out as openly gay when he was 19. He is a product of public education, spent some time at University of Missouri, then enlisted in the military and served briefly, then returned to St. Louis and started working, but never completed his degree at the University of Missouri. His campaign and work as Alderman has been very focused on the community, and he claims that he is very focused on promoting public service for the people of his ward.
