Board President Lewis Reed, 22nd Ward Alderman Jeffrey L. Boyd and former 21st Ward Alderman John Collins-Muhammad were all indicted May 25. Collins-Muhammad resigned his office on May 12, 2022 due to the ongoing criminal investigation. Reed is facing two bribery-related charges. Collins-Muhammad has been indicted on two bribery-related charges and one charge of honest services bribery/wire fraud. Boyd is facing two bribery related charges and a separate, two count wire fraud indictment alleging he fraudulently sought $22,000 from his insurance company for damage to vehicles that he falsely claimed to own. Jeffrey attended and graduated from St. Louis Public Schools District in 1982. Jeffrey has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia College and his Masters of Business Administration from Fontbonne University in 1999. He has taught Budgeting and Community Development courses as an adjunct professor at Harris Stowe University. Jeffrey is also a graduate of Leadership St. Louis sponsored by FOCUS St. Louis (Class 2002) as well as Dismantling Racism Institute sponsored by the National Conference for Community and Justice (Class of 1995). He served 8 years of active duty in the US Army, and 23 years of military service. He has over 19 years of experience in neighborhood development, He has served as Program Manager as well as Executive Director with various not-for-profit organizations. He has also taken leadership on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for over 3 years, is a Facilitator for the United Way - Management Assistance Center for 3 years, and staff with the National Conference for Community and Justice. In 2003, he campaigned and won the position of Alderman.
