Huntington Beach resident and former California State University professor Dr. Lorraine Prinsky has been elected to serve to as the president of the Coast Community College District (CCCD) Board of Trustees for 2015. Prinsky has served on the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees since 2008. This is her second term as president. Prinsky has also served as board vice president and board clerk. She currently resides in Trustee Area 3, which includes Huntington Beach. During her career on the Board, Prinsky has served on the Accreditation Committee, Legislative Affairs Committee, chaired the Personnel Committee and been the trustee representative to the Orange County Community Colleges Legislative Task Force and the Orange Coast College Foundation. Prinsky also serves on the board of Women in Leadership and is an award-winning professor of Sociology at California State University, Fullerton. Prinsky has been honored by the National Women’s Political Caucus with the Orange County Rankin Courage to Run award. Prinsky has also served her community as a Girl Scout Leader and a trained mediator for the county’s Small Claims Court. Prinsky received her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and her doctorate from UCI.
