According to the St. Louis Business Journal, Heller owed more than $213,000 in back taxes as of May 2015. Despite this, he was hired by Downtown Now! to assemble land for the new St. Louis Rams Stadium project. Two of the federal tax liens, for $11,407 and $50,975, are from March and February of this year. He is also a defendant in a lawsuit filed in February by Tenth Street Lofts Condominium Association Inc. that alleges Heller owes more than $3,000 on charges related to a condo at 1010 St. Charles St."
