Kevin Shinkle is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer responsible for external communications, media relations and employee and cross-divisional communications throughout Delta's global system. Kevin joined Delta in May 2014 from The Associated Press, the world's largest news organization. At the AP, Kevin was business editor, managing coverage of economic, business and financial news with a team of more than 70 editors and reporters in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Kevin joined the AP in 2008 at the height of the global financial crisis. He oversaw AP's coverage of the financial markets before becoming deputy business editor. Under his direction, AP reporters were honored by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers for breaking news coverage and explanatory and feature writing. Kevin previously was business editor of The Star-Ledger newspaper in Newark, N.J., where the business section won several national awards. He also was a reporter at Bloomberg News, The Tampa Tribune, and The Chapel Hill Newspaper and served as a member of the board of governors of SABEW. Kevin holds a bachelor's degree from Hillsdale College, where he majored in history and political theory.
