LeFrois fingerprints are all over the Rochester area — from numerous homes in Webster to a forest of office buildings in Henrietta. Mr. LeFrois was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Rochester. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and was stationed in New York City, where he met his wife, Estelle. He learned construction skills from his father, a carpenter and cabinet maker. It was that start that led him into construction. Mr. LeFrois started Russell P. LeFrois Builders, in 1947. And its portfolio of work grew quickly, from more than 100 custom homes in Webster to the clubhouse at Happy Acres Golf Course. LeFrois raised two children — Richard, now of Webster, and Janine, now of Pittsford. Richard LeFrois took over running Russell P. LeFrois Builder Inc. in 1972. And though his father had retirement interests ranging from boating to his race horses, Mr. LeFrois never walked away from the business he built. Mr. LeFrois was preceded in death in 2003 by his wife. He is survived by his two children, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
