Ed Cunningham serves as Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Renewable Energy Group and U.S. Naturual Resources Group, which have finalized agreements between Chinese and American companies for the development of more than $1.8 billion in energy projects. As a partner in an international law firm and CEO, Cunningham has spent more than a decade working in China and has been responsible for many of the landmark agreements that have opened the Chinese market to American companies. Prior to his current position, Cunningham served as Chief Executive Officer, Asia, for AEG which is owned by Phil Anschutz. Under his guidance, AEG’s operations in the Asian region grew from a handful of employees to more than 5,000 employees in eleven Asian cities with real estate, infrastructure, and development projects exceeding two billion dollars. AEG and its affliates compose one of the world’s largest investors in and developers of real estate, telecommunications, infrastructure, railways, renewable energy, natural resources, and cultural events. Prior to accepting his position with AEG, Cunningham served as the China CEO for Clear Channel Communications (Media and Entertainment Division), a Fortune 500 Company that continues to profit from the China entry strategy created and implemented by Cunningham. Prior to Clear Channel, Cunningham was a law partner at Coudert Brothers Law Firm, the largest international law firm in Asia (more than 1,000 attorneys) during Cunningham’s tenure. As well as representing and guiding many of the world’s top companies in their China entry strategies, Cunningham also served as lead international counsel for Chinese municipalities, provinces, and national government entities.
