John Loving brings over thirteen years of public policy and lobbying experience to Kilpatrick Stockton. Mr. Loving’s experience provides him with the skills to assist his clients with addressing a wide range of issues, including health care, agriculture, appropriations, homeland security, education, tax, trade, and judicial matters. Before joining the firm, Mr. Loving spent over four years as the Director of Government Relations for the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA), where he served as chief liaison between the Association and Congressional leaders. Mr. Loving successfully spearheaded a number of high-profile initiatives in his role at SGMA. His work included securing federal funding for numerous health and wellness programs, securing appropriations funding for industry-based programs in the transportation and education appropriations bill, and lobbying for industry tax breaks and tariff reductions. Prior to working with SGMA, Mr. Loving spent several years in Congress working in the House and the Senate, most recently as a Legislative Assistant in the office of Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT). During his time with Senator Bennett, Mr. Loving handled banking, health care, small business, trade, education, and finance issues. Earlier, Mr. Loving worked in the offices of Representative Jim Gibbons (R-NV) and Representative Dick Armey (R-TX).
