Prominent Patton Boggs LLP litigator James E. Tyrrell Jr., who played a lead role in the firm's controversial involvement in a disputed Amazon pollution verdict against Chevron Corp., has joined Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP in its Morristown, New Jersey, and New York offices. A now former regional manager partner of Patton Boggs' New Jersey and New York offices, Tyrrell had a front row seat for that turmoil. The firm in February announced the closure of its Newark, New Jersey, office. At Edwards Wildman, Tyrrell, who is the lead counsel for New York City in mass litigation over 9/11 response efforts, will focus on toxic tort, product liability and complex commercial litigation, according to the firm. He has handled numerous other high-profile matters for corporate clients during his long career, ranging from Agent Orange litigation to Y2K disputes. Tyrrell, who earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1974, said in a statement that he is honored and excited to join Edwards Wildman.
