Ms. Epstein, Pillsbury's senior advisor for government relations, has a distinguished record of representing an array of interests in Washington and in the states and abroad on subjects ranging from international trade, education, agriculture and energy to financial services, taxes, environmental affairs and budget battles. Ms. Epstein is not an attorney. She was a key strategist and lobbyist for Mexico in securing passage of the historic North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and since has led key fights over NAFTA implementation. She draws on her experience as a representative of Canadian, Chilean and other international interests, as a strategist for various U.S. businesses, as a former government affairs director for the nation's state boards of education, and as an advisor to the National Governors' Association. Ms. Epstein is involved in every aspect of a client's government affairs effort. This includes devising strategies, coordinating contacts with Washington and state officials, preparing policy papers and other written communications, working with the media, developing coalitions, managing grassroots lobbying and monitoring the progress of legislation through Congress.
