Susan Turnbull is the immediate past Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party and served as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2005 until 2009. For a number of years she has been seen as an expert in women’s outreach, Jewish outreach, and many other areas of political strategy. Ms. Turnbull was a platform speaker at the 2000 Democratic Convention in Los Angeles, CA and was co-organizer of the women’s events at the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston, MA. With a background in Urban Planning and Design, Ms. Turnbull has worked in a variety of legislative and governmental positions for more than 30 years. She currently serves as Senior Advisor and Grant Consultant to several Members of Congress. Ms. Turnbull also serves as a principal of an Interior Space Planning business and serves on several charitable boards. Susan Turnbull received a Master of Arts degree in Urban Studies from the University of Maryland. She currently lives in Bethesda, MD, with her husband Bruce.
