Jason Van Der Merwe

Jason van der Merwe is an associate at Stanford University, where he is a candidate for a bachelors degree in Computer Science. Previously, Jason worked at Wheelz, a recently acquired SF-based startup, where he developed innovative consumer-transportation technology, and Qualcomm in San Diego. Jason has also developed numerous consumer applications and products that are being used in a variety of sectors, including mobile health and fitness. At Stanford, Jason is a member of the Behavior Design research group and is an advisor for various student initiatives. Outside of the classroom, Jason can be found participating in CrossFit, cycling, playing guitar in coffee-shops or spending time with RUF, a Christian fellowship group. Born in South Africa, where he spent half of his childhood, Jason is also an avid photographer and has had photos published in international magazines. Jason is a Coca-Cola Scholar.
