Ann Curry lived in Japan for several years as a child before moving to Ashland, where she graduated from Ashland High School. She received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Oregon in 1978. Curry began her broadcasting career as an intern in 1978 at Medford's KTVL-TV, then became the station's first female news reporter. She left in 1981 to become a reporter and anchor for KGW, the NBC affiliate in Portland and then served as a reporter for KCBS in Los Angeles. Curry is a national and international correspondent/anchor for NBC News and anchor at large for the network's “Today” show. She reports for all platforms of NBC News, including “Today,” “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Rock Center with Brian Williams,” “Dateline” and MSNBC. She first joined NBC News in August 1990 as a Chicago-based correspondent and later helped launch MSNBC, and then became news anchor at “Today” and co-anchor of the show from June 2011 to June 2012.
