Craig James is a Managing Director at The Glover Park Group and specializes in strategy development and management of integrated communications campaigns. James has extensive experience managing complex multi-year campaigns to improve reputation and achieve specific business objectives. These campaigns have integrated a researched-based messaging strategy through a wide spectrum of communications channels, including advertising, the web, social media, media relations, grassroots mobilization and legislative outreach.
Previously, James was the founder and former President of The Powell Tate Advertising Group (PTAG), which specialized in print and broadcast public affairs advertising and Internet advocacy campaigns. Prior to founding PTAG, he was the Senior Vice President of Bozell|Eskew, the advocacy advertising subsidiary of Robinson Lake Sawyer Miller.
James has developed corporate communications, advocacy, marketing and educational campaigns for clients in a variety of industries including: Delta Air Lines, the St. Joe Company, The United States Mint, TimberWest, The Nemours Foundation, The Schmidt Family Foundation, George Washington University, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
James began his career working in politics and was Vice President in the political media firms of Squier-Eskew Communications and Grunwald, Eskew & Donilon. He developed media strategies and produced advertising for federal political candidates and causes, domestically and internationally. He has also worked for the New Zealand Labour Party, the New Zealand Challenge America’s Cup Team, the Australian Labor Party, and an Australian public opinion polling firm.
For ten months during 2008 James traveled around the world with his wife and two children, visiting 17 countries and crossing 40 borders. The family documented their adventure at The Wide Wide World.
