Suzanne Ross comes to Connecticut by way of Pittsburgh and Miami. A native Pittsburgher, she attended Boston College and then went right back to Pittsburgh to work at PNC Bank while acquiring her law degree in the evening program at Duquesne University. Most of her career was in Wealth Management at PNC but with the acquisition of Riggs National Bank, Suzanne moved into the compliance area with a focus on anti-money laundering. She was very involved with local non-profit organizations in Pittsburgh and had some unique travel experiences associated with them, including Japan and China. A job change to BNY Mellon gave Suzanne the opportunity to spend time in Miami and she expanded her horizons to the South Florida operation. Sunny skies and no snow beckoned so she joined BankUnited as the Chief Compliance Officer in 2010. The challenge of a new role at Higher One as the CCO called her back to the Northeast in 2013 – Suzanne believes that she is charged with balancing the role of compliance with the need to sell and retain business for the company. Four children (and heavy tuition bills) keep Suzanne grounded but she still has time to explore her new location. She hopes to volunteer her time in the community here. Also, as a former violinist, she is going to drag her violin out of storage and start fiddling around again!
