Facebook CMO Gary Briggs is retiring. Briggs, who joined Facebook in 2013 from Google, announced his plans to leave the social giant on his Facebook page Monday afternoon. Briggs, who reports to Facebook’s top product executive Chris Cox, says that he’ll stick around at the company and help hunt for his replacement. Gary Briggs was the VP of Consumer Marketing at Google. Prior to this, Gary served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at eBay. He was responsible for eBay's branding and marketing activities in North America, including advertising, Internet marketing, direct marketing, onsite merchandising, partner relationships, and core category initiatives. In his six-year career at eBay, Gary held other positions including VP of Consumer Marketing for eBay U.S., VP of Global Marketing for PayPal, and General Manager for eBay Canada.
