Thomas Clay Purcell, a Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton based in Annapolis Junction, MD, is a leader in the firm’s security business. As a subject matter expert and leader in multiple areas of intelligence analysis and support, he serves clients across the Intelligence Community (IC), leading activities supporting advanced technical analysis for cutting-edge intelligence challenges. Upon joining Booz Allen, Mr. Purcell and his teams supported IC clients in strategic planning, requirements definition for emerging exploitation support systems, rapid identification and prototyping of technologies to aid analysts, application of specialized analytical skills to difficult targets, basic and advance analytic training, analysis for use of developing and emerging intelligence collection and exploitation systems, and analyst staffing support to analysis, exploitation, and production. Subsequently, he led contracts in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) with major impact across the firm in both defense and security information and analysis. Mr. Purcell also has served as member and co-lead of Booz Allen’s Principals Leadership Forum and as a subject matter expert on various short-term task forces for multiple IC organizations on topics ranging from analyst training, technology to improve analysis, intelligence collection and productions systems, and future intelligence environments and challenges. Mr. Purcell joined Booz Allen in 1993 following a successful U.S. Army career that included experience and leadership in the areas of field artillery and intelligence including signals, imagery, human, and all-source intelligence at tactical, theater, strategic, joint, and interagency levels. Mr. Purcell has a B. A. degree in political science and history from the University of Oklahoma, and an M.A. degree in business from the University of Nebraska. Additionally, he is a graduate of the US Army Senior Service College.
