Mr. Sandner has been a Director of CME Group, Inc., since its formation on August 2, 2001. In 1971, he joined the CME and served continuously on its Board of Directors since 1977, achieving the longest tenure of any elected Director at the Exchange.
Mr. Sandner has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of RB&H Financial Services, LP, since 1985. He was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of 1FreeDrive.com. Mr. Sandner has also become a well-known figure in financial regulation policy, having testified before Congress and in other public forums about issues affecting the financial services industry. In 1999, former President Clinton appointed him to the President’s Export Council. He serves on the President's Export Council.
Mr. Sandner is the Chairman and Trustee of The Cancer Institute at Rush-Presbyterian-St Luke’s Medical Center. In 2001, the U.S. Congress appointed Mr. Sandner to serve on the Library of Congress’s National Digital Strategy Advisory Board. He is a Director at Merrick Ventures, LLC.
During most of the past two decades, Mr. Sandner has been a Director of Click Commerce Inc., since April 2001. He serves as a Director of Colleges.com. He serves as a Director of National Futures Association and previously, served as its Director from 1998 to 2001. He served as a Director of the World Trade Center of Chicago, and the Economic Club of Chicago. From 1980 to 1997, Mr. Sandner served as a Trustee of the University of Notre Dame, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Mr. Sandner is a Trustee of Roosevelt University, the Museum of Science and Industry. He was honored with an endowed chair “Chicago Mercantile Exchange John F. Sandner in Futures and Options Studies” at Northwestern University’s JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
He has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 1968. Mr. Sandner received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Notre Dame Law School and serves on Notre Dame's Board of Trustees. « less
