Augie Cheh holds a BS in electrical engineering and an MBA from Columbia University. After graduating from Columbia, Augie was a management and actuarial consultant at Towers Perrin in New York City. Between 1994–2000, Augie worked at J.P. Morgan Investment Management where he was a fixed-income portfolio manager managing short-duration and intermediate-duration fixed income investments, as well as other U.S. and non-U.S. fixed income portfolios. In 2003, Augie joined AllianceBernstein in New York as director of global consultants, and subsequently, moved to Asia as the CEO of AllianceBernstein Asia ex-Japan with responsibility for the institutional, tetail, and Bernstein sell-side businesses for the Asia region. In 2011, he worked as president of Janus Capital International overseeing all of Janus’ non-US businesses in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Latin American, and a member of the Janus executive committee and named executive officer for Janus Capital Group. He was a director for the Janus Capital Funds until 2017. Augie is an advisory board member for Columbia Business School’s Tamer Center for Social Enterprise and a committee member for the Columbia University Alumni Trustee Nomination Committee. He is a member of the board of advisors of International Care Ministry (ICM) in Hong Kong with the focus of fighting poverty in the Philippines. Augie is also involved in a number of initiatives with MotherChoice Hong Kong, providing better livelihood and options for single mothers, and with St. Stephen’s Foundation, an educational foundation in Hong Kong. He also served as a consultant for Asia Charity Services (ACS), a nonprofit organization aimed at empowering and equipping nonprofits to expand their organizational capacity and achieve excellence in standards and operations in Asia through consulting services, training, and providing learning resources. Augie is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also held the designations of the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (C.E.B.S.), Associate of the Society of Actuaries (A.S.A.) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (M.A.A.A.).
