Mr. Scheinman, previously a long-time Cisco executive, led the Corporate Development group, overseeing the merger and acquisition, venture investment, strategic alliance, and technology incubation functions for the company. . Taking over in 2001, Scheinman helped rebuild Corporate Development as a growth enabler for Cisco completing more than 40 acquisitions and numerous investments helping to accelerate Cisco’s growth beyond more than switching and routing (including acquiring Aerospace, Linksys and Scientific Atlanta). Mr. Scheinman also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Cisco Media Solutions Group, an internal start-up which successfully developed and marketed a hosted software solution to help media owners grow social direct to consumer businesses. Scheinman developed a unique understanding of the relationship between media and technology while building a growing, scaling software platform. Mr. Scheinman previously held the position of general counsel during his tenure at Cisco. He holds a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Duke University Law School and a political science degree from Brandeis University.
