John Hurley

Mr. John M. Hurley serves as Senior Vice President and President of GEO Corrections and Detention, LLC. Mr. Hurley served as Senior Vice President of Operations at The GEO Group, Inc. until February 1, 2016 and as its President of GEO Corrections & Detention from 2006 to February 1, 2016. Mr. Hurley served as the Senior Vice President of The GEO Group, Inc. since 2000 and its President of GEO Detention & Corrections. He served as President of U S Corrections at Geo Group Inc. (formerly, Wackenhut Corrections Corp.) since 2006. He served as Senior Vice President of North American Operations of Geo Group Inc. since January 1, 2000. He has been with Wackenhut Corrections Corp. since 1998. He served as Warden of South Bay, Florida correctional facility of GEO from 1998 to 2000. Prior to WCC, Mr. Hurley was employed by the Department of Justice of US and completed 26 years of distinguished service in the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) While with the BOP, he served as the Warden of several major correctional institutions, including a Maximum Security Penitentiary, and earlier, at the BOP’s largest correctional facility. His staff assignments in the BOP included Director of the Staff Training Academy, Deputy Assistant Director, Community Corrections and Detention Division and Correctional Programs Administrator of the Correctional Programs Division. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Iowa, and a Certificate in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
