David Catalfamo joined the firm as a Managing Director in September 2012 when his firm, Capitol Public Strategies (CPS), was acquired by Park Strategies. Mr. Catalfamo is a 20- year veteran of New York State government with extensive experience working in both the legislative and executive branches. In the aftermath of September 11th, Mr. Catalfamo served as Senior Vice President at the Empire State Development Corporation, where he was primarily responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing the State's business and tourism recovery efforts. In that position he led the award-winning “I Love New York” campaign that helped reinvigorate New York’s tourism economy. Mr. Catalfamo directed the state's business development efforts for over seven years, working with companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He also managed the State’s $30 million high tech venture fund and was Executive Director of the New York Science and Technology Foundation. From 2004-2007, Mr. Catalfamo served as Director of Communications for former New York Governor George Pataki. In that position he was a senior advisor to the governor on strategy, public policy, budgetary and political matters, and oversaw the State's crisis communications managing the response to numerous natural disasters, periods of elevated homeland security and the New York City transit strike. Mr. Catalfamo is a former a principal in the Dilenschneider Group, a renowned corporate communications firm servicing a wide range of Fortune 500 companies in the United States and abroad. He lives in the Albany area.
