Giving is done as a family activity that reflects the diverse philanthropic interests of Dalio family members. As a result, Dalio Philanthropies’ giving is eclectic rather than focused on a single mission. It supports organizations at all stages of development, from start-ups in need of seed capital to well-established institutions that can bring big and novel ideas to fruition. It does not, however, review unsolicited requests for funding. OUR WORK The Dalio family’s diverse philanthropic passions include: Connecticut public education, ocean exploration and awareness, environmental protection, investing in technology access and education, meditation, mental health and wellness, financial inclusion, child welfare and capacity building in China, and community and the arts, among other things. Proposals are initiated internally and vetted by the professional staff and experts who provide their recommendations. The Board makes decisions as a committee. We do not accept unsolicited proposals or donation requests, and such solicitations will not be considered by the Board. From inception to date, the Dalio family has given over $5 billion in funding to Dalio Philanthropies to support philanthropy.
