Previously, she was a managing director for 11 years at the Parthenon Group, where Palandjian established and led the nonprofit practice, and she also worked at Wellington Management Company and McKinsey & Company. Palandjian is coauthor of Investing for Impact: Case Studies Across Asset Classes and is vice chair of the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance. She is a trustee and chairs the investment committee at the Surdna Foundation and is a director of Affiliated Managers Group. She is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Community Development Advisory Council. Previously, Palandjian served as board chair of Facing History and Ourselves, cochair of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and a trustee of Milton Academy. Palandjian has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar, and a B.A. in economics from Harvard College. Auguste Byron headshot 4MP.JPG Byron Auguste Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder Opportunity@Work Byron Auguste is the chief executive officer and cofounder of Opportunity @Work, a social enterprise based in Washington, D.C. that aims to rewire the U.S. labor market in ways that enable more Americans to achieve upward mobility in the job market and workplace. Before cofounding Opportunity @Work, Auguste served for two years in the White House as deputy assistant to the President for economic policy and deputy director of the National Economic Council. Until 2013, Auguste was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company in Washington, D.C. and in Los Angeles, where he was elected principal in 1999 and director in 2005. Before that, he was as an economist at LMC International, Oxford University, and the African Development Bank. He is the author of The Economics of International Payments Unions and Clearinghouses. Until his appointment at the White House, Auguste was active in a number of nonprofit organizations, serving as board chairman of Hope Street Group and as a member of the boards of trustees of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Yale University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Pacific Council on International Policy. Her work is focused on accelerating programs like Career Choice, which has helped thousands of Amazon employees retrain for careers in high-demand fields. Previously, Williams was vice president of talent acquisition for Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she scaled the recruiting capability for Amazon's rapidly growing cloud computing business — including strengthening AWS's pipeline of military and veteran talent through innovative Department of Labor certified apprenticeship programs. Williams has more than 35 years of leadership experience across the tech industry. She has held roles in product development and marketing, corporate business development, mergers and acquisitions, and human resources. Before joining Amazon, Williams was Intel's vice president of HR enterprise services. Williams began her career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1983. StrahanHeadshot.jpg Bill Strahan Executive Vice President, Human Resources Comcast Cable Bill Strahan is executive vice president of human resources for Comcast Cable, responsible for all aspects of human resources. He has been at Comcast since 2006. Strahan has been involved in various aspects of human resources work for more than 35 years. He began his career with over a decade of work at Macy’s Department Stores and Riggs National Bank. The second decade of his work included practicing law in Washington, D.C. in the area of compensation and benefits — mostly in the context of mergers and acquisitions and in initial public offerings. For nine years, Bill was a consultant and manager at Mercer HR Consulting. He is board chair of Philadelphia Works, an organization that connects employers to a skilled workforce and helps individuals develop the skills needed to thrive in the workplace. He also does board work for the Emma Bowen Foundation and Longwood Gardens. Strahan has a J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law and a B.A. in religion from Villanova University; he also has a certificate in employee benefit administration from Georgetown University. FitzpatrickHeadshot.jpg Daniel Fitzpatrick President, Mid-Atlantic Region Citizens Bank Daniel K. Fitzpatrick is president of Citizens Bank’s Mid-Atlantic region, head of its national industry verticals, and serves on Citizens Financial Group’s executive leadership group. Fitzpatrick is a former chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and serves on its executive committee, its Greater Philadelphia Energy Action Team, and its CEO Council for Growth. As chairman of the CEO Council’s human capital working group, Fitzpatrick has focused on collaborating with public, private, and nonprofit partners to provide workforce development solutions and opportunities to disadvantaged populations. Fitzpatrick is vice chairman of Philadelphia Works and a member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Wistar Institute, and the Union League. Fitzpatrick serves on the board and executive committee of the Satell Institute, the executive board of Elementary Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the innovation advisory board of the University of Pennslyvania’s Abramson Cancer Center, and he corporate council of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2016, Fitzpatrick was named an emerging icon in financial services by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Fitzpatrick has an M.B.A. from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from La Salle University. He is a C.P.A. and a chartered financial analyst. Kenney Headshot.jpg Jim Kenney Mayor City of Philadelphia Since taking office in January 2016, Mayor Jim Kenney has implemented a progressive agenda that supports working families and creates more opportunities for our city’s children. He worked closely with city council to pass a tax on sweetened beverages —funding antipoverty initiatives, including the expansion of free, quality pre-K; the creation of Community Schools; and the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, and libraries. Building on his early commitment to education, Kenney successfully initiated the return of the School District of Philadelphia to local control, and for the first time in nearly two decades, the district is led by a locally appointed board of education. The Kenney administration has taken a hard stance — and made national headlines — in defending its values as a welcoming city. Philadelphia has also made significant strides in public safety and criminal justice reform. The city safely reduced its prison population by over one-third as part of the MacArthur Safety and Justice Challenge, and the number of pedestrian stops have been cut nearly in half. At the same time, the city is experiencing the lowest overall crime rates in nearly 40 years. Now near the end of his first term, Kenney continues fighting to increase equity in every neighborhood to ensure that Philly is a city that works for all. patharkersmall.jpg Patrick Harker President and Chief Executive Officer Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Patrick T. Harker took office on July 1, 2015, as the 11th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. In this role, Harker participates on the Federal Open Market Committee, which formulates the nation’s monetary policy. Before taking office at the Philadelphia Fed, Harker was the 26th president of the University of Delaware. He was also a professor of business administration at the university’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the College of Engineering. Before joining the University of Delaware in 2007, Harker was dean and Reliance Professor of Management and Private Enterprise at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to being appointed dean in 2000, Harker was the Wharton School’s interim dean and deputy dean as well as the chair of its Operations and Information Management Department. In 1991, he was the youngest faculty member in Wharton’s history to be awarded an endowed professorship as UPS Transportation Professor of the Private Sector. He has published/edited nine books and more than 100 professional articles. From 1996 to 1999, he served as editor-in-chief of the journal Operations Research. In 2012, Harker was named a fellow of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and a charter fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. He was also named a White House fellow by President George H. W. Bush in 1991 and was a special assistant to FBI Director William S. Sessions from 1991 to 1992. Harker is a board member of both the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and its Select Greater Philadelphia Council. He is also a board member at the Science Center in Philadelphia. Previously, he was on the boards of Catholic Relief Services, Pepco Holdings, Inc., and Huntsman Corporation and was a founding member of the board of advisors for Decision Lens, Inc. He was also a nonbanking Class B director of the Philadelphia Fed from 2012 to 2015. Harker has a Ph.D. in civil and urban engineering, an M.A. in economics, and an M.S.E. and B.S.E. in civil engineering, all from the University of Pennsylvania. Already Registered?
