Partners The Future of Children is supported by several partners at Princeton University and the Brookings Institution, which offer research and information. Center for Health and Wellbeing The Center for Health and Wellbeing at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University seeks to foster research and teaching on the multiple aspects of health and wellbeing in both developed and developing countries. Its goal is to understand the determinants of health and wellbeing, and the role that public policy plays in shaping the quality of people's lives. Center for Research on Child Wellbeing The Center for Research on Child Wellbeing at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University conducts research on children's health, education, income, and family structure. Its goal is to promote research on families and child wellbeing, and to link research to practice and public policy. Center on Children and Families The Brookings Institution's Center on Children and Families conducts research and outreach which focuses on four issues: 1) low-income working families and policies designed to improve their economic prospects; 2) policies to increase the proportion of children growing up in married, two-parent families, including proposals to reduce teen pregnancy; 3) social mobility in the United States and investments in children to improve their opportunities to climb higher on the education and income ladder; and 4) fiscal problems of federal and state governments, and steps that can be taken to ensure fiscal responsibility while supporting programs targeted to poor and low-income families. Education Research Section The Education Research Section at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University seeks to conduct and promote high quality education research through the use of experimental and quasi-experimental research designs, and to disseminate the results of such research to educators, policy-makers, and the public in order to improve the quality of education at all levels. Foundation for Child Development The Foundation for Child Development (FCD) is a national private philanthropy in New York City dedicated to promoting a new beginning for American education from PreKindergarten through Third Grade (PreK-3rd). The Foundation promotes the well-being of children, and believes that families, schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government at all levels share complementary responsibilities in the critical task of raising new generations. The Brookings Institution The Brookings Institution is an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted to research, analysis, education, and publication on public policy issues in economics, foreign policy, and governance. The goal of Brookings activities is to improve the performance of American institutions and the quality of public policy by using social science to analyze emerging issues and to offer practical approaches to those issues in language aimed at the general public. Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University is a major international center of advanced training and research in public affairs. The School serves interests in both domestic public policy and international affairs, and emphasizes experiential, policy-oriented research and learning in its undergraduate and graduate programs. Jacobs Foundation The Jacobs Foundation was established in 1989 by Klaus J. Jacobs and his family. University of Cambridge The Applied Developmental Psychology Research Group at Cambridge is internationally known for its research on the capacities of child witnesses and offenders and on the developmental determinants of psychological adjustment in childhood and adolescence, with particular focus on parent-child relationships in traditional and non-traditional families.
