Q: What is The Primary School (TPS)? TPS is an integrated health and education model serving children and families in the communities of East Palo Alto and Belle Haven. TPS is a community partnership model dedicated to dramatically improving the health and educational outcomes for the highest-need children. Q: How does TPS differ from other schools? Our approach breaks down barriers between healthcare and education, and early childhood and K-12 education, by bringing parents, teachers, and health professionals together in a team-based approach to support each child’s growth. By integrating education, health, and family support services starting at birth, TPS will expand the traditional definition of “school” in order to prepare all children to succeed in college, career, and life. TPS provides: · Full-time school starting at age 3; · Partnership to offer deeply integrated health services; · Continuous partnership with and support for parents, beginning prenatally. Q: What is the admissions process? The Primary School serves low-income families living in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park. Interested families should contact us to learn more. Q: What is the cost to attend? There is no cost for children to attend The Primary School. Q: Is TPS a charter school? No. TPS is a private, non-profit school developed in partnership with community organizations and healthcare providers.
