Founded in 2003, Voices for National Service has built strong bipartisan support among our nation’s leaders and has helped to position national service as a viable policy solution to leverage human capital, tackle unmet needs, and expand opportunity. Drawing on the experience and expertise of the national service community, Voices for National Service led the effort to design, develop and pass the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act in 2009. This bipartisan legislation, which earned 79 affirmative votes in the U.S. Senate, serves as a road map to a revitalized and more innovative national service infrastructure in America. Voices for National Service has also worked to build a strong body of research including a cost benefit analysis and public opinion research that demonstrates the high return on investment, broad bipartisan support and other unique benefits of national service. For over 15 years, we have fought to increase public awareness of the powerful impact national service has on communities. Read more about our recent accomplishments. Voices for National Service is supported by membership dues from the national service community. Our success depends on financial support from and the active engagement of members of the national service community across the country. Individuals and organizations committed to expanding national service in America contribute to the sustainability of Voices for National Service by paying dues, engaging Congress, sharing their service stories, and participating in other calls to action.
