OceanaGold

Operates gold and copper mines in New Zealand and the Philippines. Attempting to open a mine in El Salvador. OceanaGold acquired the Canadian company Pacific Rim, which sought to start mining in El Salvador, in November 2013. OceanaGold is currently engaged in lawsuit with the government of El Salvador to compel it to allow mining. The lawsuit -- in a World Bank arbitration tribunal-- is also seeking damages of $300 million, or half of El Salvador's annual budget. Decision expected in 2015.
