State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine (hereinafter - the Agency) is the Central Executive body which activity is directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The Agency of Ukraine is the main body in the system of central executive bodies responsible for implementing the State policy in the sphere of investment activity and management of the National Projects - strategic projects providing technological modernization and development of the basic branches of the real sector of economy of Ukraine. Mission of the Agency is attraction of foreign investment to Ukraine and providing the implementation of strategic projects aimed at upgrading technology and developing the basic branches of the economy of Ukraine (National Projects). The Provision of the Agency, approved by the President of Ukraine on May 12, 2011, entrusts the following assignments: 1.The implementation of the State policy in the sphere of investment activity; 2.National Projects management; 3.Improvement of the investment image of Ukraine, support for investment development of the regions of Ukraine. “National Project” is a project of socio-economic and cultural development priority directions that is strategically important for a particular industry of the real sector of economy or regional development. National Projects are the engines of economic reforms in Ukraine and practical implementation of the Program of Economic Reforms for 2010-2014 years “Prosperous Society, Competitive Economy, Effective State”, that was approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of March 12, 2012 No. 187/2012. They are aimed at building modern, stable, open and competitive economy and above all - at the increase of the welfare of Ukrainian citizens. Implementation of large scale economic and social projects that have strategic meaning for entire sectors of Ukrainian economy, fundamental economic renewal of regions, attraction of significant amount of investment, improvement of people’s quality of life in the country.
