Jackalyne Pfannenstiel was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment) in 2010. She has established herself as a champion of implementing innovative energy strategies, policies, and guidance to meet energy goals, including producing 50% of the Navy’s energy consumption from alternative sources by 2020. From 2004 to 2009, Ms. Pfannenstiel served as Chairman of the California Energy Commission. She has also been an independent energy consultant and, from 1980 to 2000, worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and its parent, PG&E Corporation. Ms. Pfannenstiel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Clark University and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Hartford.
