Scott Weber is a Senior Advisor to The Chertoff Group. Mr. Weber previously served as the Senior Counselor to the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, assisting the Secretary with policy development, operations, and legal analysis. His portfolio included infrastructure protection, preparedness, and continuity of operations and of government programs, work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), Private Sector Office, Infrastructure Protection Directorate and Science and Technology Directorate (S&T); emergency communications, strategic alliances; private sector matters; and academic outreach. Mr. Weber is the President of Opera Solutions Government Services (OSGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Opera Solutions, an internationally recognized leader in Big Data predictive analytics. OSGS brings predictive analytics solutions to government organizations by creating advanced "Man + Machine" interfaces that drive greater human productivity and support better decision-making on the front lines of operations. Mr. Weber is also a Partner at the D.C.-based law firm, Patton Boggs, LLC where he concentrates on complex litigation with an emphasis in general commercial and class action defense, white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations, toxic tort, and product liability. Mr. Weber has appeared in and written for several media outlets including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CNBC, BBC Television, Forbes.com, Security Debrief and The National Journal, discussing law enforcement, cybersecurity and homeland security matters. Mr. Weber received his J.D. from Boston College and his B.A. from Rutgers College. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Mr. Weber was named to the New Jersey Law Journal’s “40 Under 40” listing in July 2006, which honors New Jersey lawyers whose achievements in the workplace and in public service involvement distinguish them among their peers. He is currently a Senior Advisor to the Homeland Security and Defense Business Council, among other professional organizations and charities.
