Nicole Seligman holds the position of Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Sony Corporation, reporting to Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Sony Corporation. She oversees legal, compliance and internal audit activities for Sony Corporation, and serves as a member of Sony's Group Executive Committee. Ms. Seligman joined Sony Corporation of America (SCA) as Executive Vice President and General Counsel in September 2001, reporting to Sir Howard Stringer. She was appointed Corporate Executive Officer, Sony Corporation, in June 2003, and was promoted to General Counsel of Sony Corporation in June 2005. Ms. Seligman retains her responsibilities as EVP and General Counsel for SCA, overseeing all legal, intellectual property, governmental, regulatory and general affairs activities. Ms. Seligman joined SCA from Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C. where she was a partner in the firm's litigation practice working on a broad range of complex civil and criminal matters, and counseling a wide range of clients including President William Jefferson Clinton and Lt. Col. Oliver North. Prior to that, she served as law clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall on the Supreme Court of the United States (1984-1985), and as law clerk to Judge Harry T. Edwards at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia (1983-l984). From 1978-l980 she was associate editorial page editor for the Asian Wall Street Journal based in Hong Kong. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College (Radcliffe) in 1978, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1983.
