Dan Barritt has a deep passion for volunteering and nonprofit board service. He is a board member and committee chair at The School Fund, a crowdsourcing nonprofit that pays school fees for low-income students in developing countries including Tanzania and India. While on the Board of The Saul and Dayee Haas Foundation he helped convert the foundation into a public charity. He also helped rebrand it to InvestED, a nonprofit that helps students stay in school. While he was President of the board he helped implement a new strategic plan. An SV2 Partner since 2014, Dan co-led the 2018 Lightning Grant Round that evaluated tech nonprofits. Dan is very active at SV2 and has participated in many grant rounds to select nonprofits in education, international, and resilient youth. At Google, Dan was a Senior User Experience Researcher where he studied customers and made recommendations for how to improve the usability and usefulness of products. At Microsoft, Dan led teams of Researchers. Dan has Bachelors degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University.
