George Kieffer focuses on local, regional and state regulatory matters. He has extensive government contract, regulatory, municipal, land use and administrative law practice experience and oversees major litigation. He regularly represents clients in multiple industries before municipal, county and regional authorities within the Greater Los Angeles area and at the California state level and serves as a special counselor to both middle-market and Fortune 500 companies. In 2010, he was named by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals as one of the “Top 100” attorneys in California. In 2000, Mr. Kieffer was named by the Los Angeles Daily Journal and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in California. Mr. Kieffer successfully chaired the City of Los Angeles Appointed Commission charged with rewriting the Los Angeles City Charter. The new City Charter, the first full revision in 75 years, was adopted in 1999. He regularly advises policy makers as well as clients on the application of the City Charter and related policy issues. Mr. Kieffer serves on the Board of Regents of the University of California, is former chair of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, and chairs the Los Angeles Civic Alliance. He is the co-founder of FuturePorts, a coalition of business and civic interests supporting the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Among other honors, Mr. Kieffer received the Anti-Defamation League’s Jurisprudence Award in 2013 and the Crystal Eagle Award for Public Service from Coro Southern California in 2012.
