Ben Dupuy

Ben Dupuy is a partner in The Cypress Group, a lobbying, strategy consulting, and workforce housing development firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. that represents companies in the financial services, housing, and disaster recovery industries. Mr. Dupuy leads The Cypress Group’s New Markets Tax Credit Practice. Prior to joining The Cypress Group in 2005, Mr. Dupuy served as a federal lobbyist for the National Rifle Association, where he was the legislative and political liaison between the NRA and Members of Congress and their staffs, including leadership in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. While at the NRA, he was responsible for appropriations matters as well as legislation affecting firearms and ammunition manufacturers. Previously, Mr. Dupuy served on the staff of U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, as the Executive Director of the Republican Attorneys General Association, and as a campaign staff member for Lamar Alexander for President, Jeff Sessions for U.S. Senate, and Bill Pryor for Alabama Attorney General. Mr. Dupuy is from New Orleans, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1995 with a B.A. in American Government, and lives with his wife in Washington, D.C. Mr. Dupuy has provided post-Katrina pro bono representation to several New Orleans organizations, including Isidore Newman School, Women of the Storm, and Feed The Relief. Mr. Dupuy is a board member of the Politics & Pros Classic, a charity golf tournament featuring Members of Congress and PGA Tour professionals; the President of the Safari Club International Washington, D.C. Metro Chapter; and a Governor of the City Tavern Club.
