Al F. Sebok is a Member of the Firm's Industrial, Environmental and Complex Litigation Practice Group. He represents and consults with employers on labor and employment matters. This includes representing employers in both federal and state courts in wrongful discharge and employment discrimination claims. He also consults with employers on personnel issues, union avoidance issues and wage and hour matters. Mr. Sebok graduated Order of the Coif from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1985. He was Note and Comment Editor for the Law Review and published an article while a staff member on union representation elections. He received his undergraduate degree in history/religious studies from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. Mr. Sebok negotiates collective bargaining agreements for employers. He has served as chief spokesperson in negotiating contracts with the United Steel Workers of America, the Aluminum Brick and Glass Workers and the United Mine Workers of America. Additionally, he has counseled companies from a variety of industries about negotiation strategies and specific bargaining proposals. Mr. Sebok has been included in Woodward/White The Best Lawyers in America® list since 2005 for labor and employment law. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Committee of the West Virginia State Bar. He has co‑authored two law review articles in mining‑related areas. He also lectures to groups on labor and employment law issues. In the 2011 edition of Chambers USA, Mr. Sebok was noted by sources as a "bright and capable attorney," handling labor and employment negotiation, advice and litigation. Sources also said he has "exceptional knowledge of the law" and is also "very good in the courtroom".
