@rjgwood financial and especially family ties would be very interesting...

@kevin I am thinking of any potential financial ties...just interesting to me to see that many on the bench are pro-business..so curious...

The Apollo companies are a tangled web...

@kevin I found a great document - the Realogy Company's annual report filled with the SEC...a small section of which outlines the relationship between some of these companies....Leon Black's Apollo being one of them...

@kevin my sense is that Apollo is heavily invested in biotechnology and real estate development - two areas that seem to be so complex that it is pretty easy to hoodwink analysts who evaluate portfolios...

@rjgwood feel free to research those two as well...@Priscilla was looking at Leon Black, maybe you two can coordinate, or she can move on to someone else? Any sense of where Apollo is invested?

@kevin - I would like to work on others, such as Steven Cohen & Leon Black, both of whom I am coming into a lot of information regarding as I research Michael Milken...I do see that there are analysts assigned to them already, however...

@rjgwood awesome!! are there bubble barons closely linked to Milken that you'd also like to "adopt"? let me know if so...I know you're research has been looping some of them in.

@kevin love that open secrets cross-analysis...just did it for Mike Milken, and LA Pac came up...looked into LA Pac, and low and behold...key Milken associates are contributors...love it!

@kevin Yesterday I downloaded the 990s for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. I am going to do that for each foundation that he is involved...

@kevin it is a good site for the nuts and bolts of who and what...there is a lot of cronies of both Milken & Cohen associated with firms that pushed a lot of the manipulations...however, I have not seen a smoking gun at this point. Further, it could be that these practices were just so rampant that "everyone was doing it" was the mantra of the time...

@rjgwood they are highly researched. I think some of the analysis is a bit off. For instance, what's said in this article about Cohen and Milken being at the center of the Wall Street empire:
“It’s Steven Cohen and Mike Milken, though I’ve never said that to a reporter,” says Patrick Byrne, Overstock’s CEO.

Seems a little unhinged (granted, the author could be misrepresenting these individuals and their arguments).

@kevin they are high quality researched articles...they do a great job, and I'm happy to translate what they are doing onto Little Sis...throughout their works, they also have links to primary sources...

@rjgwood ok, great that you're cross checking! they must put a lot of effort into their research.

@kevin I have been doing a lot of cross checking on this source, and while I notice some leaps, there is a lot of good info that is backed up in SEC papers, NY Times info, other financial publications, etc....
