@bnelson you might consider creating this relationship with Altria (the parent entity), directly, as well... it's a judgment call. Position 396487

@kevin Thanks! I'm going to merge this with the larger Alex Von Furstenberg profile now.

@kevin That is in fact exactly what I told him!
I'll be careful with that merge function. I'll only do it when I'm absolutely sure.
Best,

from a Altria Group, Inc. / Philip Morris memo about a Brookings Institution conference on tobacco:
Finally, I had a lengthy discussion with Brookings Chairman Louis Cabot concerning our overall relationship with Brookings. I thanked him for his efforts in trying to provide a semblance of fairness to the program, but told him that it remained a disaster from our point of view. He was apologetic and appeared eager to try to work with us in any way possible to restore a good working relationship. I mentioned our previous troubles with Brookings regarding support for higher excises, and discussed the need to have some countervailing or moderating influences at Brookings if a good relationship is to prevail. I believe he will try his best to satisfy our concerns, but it remains doubtful that the ideological C predilection of Brookings will lend itself in these areas to a meeting of the minds with PM.

@kevin Also noticed this week that Domhoff mentions LittleSis on p. 35 of the latest edition of "Who Rules America?" Cool stuff.

@richardjbooth if it doesn't find donation matches, then the button doesn't work -- so evidently it didn't find any records for Biddy

@seeker we've added some random new networks for other countries but haven't completely figured out how it would work. if you feel like you'll be doing a lot with Canada, we can add a Canadian network, but if it's a one-off thing or if you want networks for a bunch of other countries then I'd sooner wait til we have a solid plan.

@seeker try using "custom fields" instead of aliases, for now. I think the EIN can get tricky when used for entity identification, I forget why. But I agree it is useful to keep track of.

@tinyspoons might make sense to start with the Americans. I formatted the list as a spreadsheet, let me know if you want it. a little tricky, because some of the names are couples/families.

@CarolineWoolard @kevin sure! I can do this. I'm just getting back from visiting family and was without reliable internet.
I'll get at it tonight.

@seeker just that I'd done some research on him, maybe five years ago, and was startled to see he committed suicide a couple years ago. Saw his name in recent edits and was curious what led you to him. Just curious!
