Peter G Peterson Foundation The purpose of Peterson's foundation: "to warn Americans of a looming economic apocalypse if the nation persists with a culture of 'entitlement'." The AARP "fears that it could be a thinly veiled argument for the privatisation of welfare." (Guardian, UK, 2/18/08)

Position 231425 "David Rubenstein, vice chairman of the board of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York and chairman of its fundraising drive, gave $10 million to the center's redevelopment project in October. @kevin Bubble Baron David Rubenstein of Carlyle Group will succeed Bubble Baron @Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone Group as chairman of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in May (NYTimes, 3/3/10). The chairman gets to sit in a box every year with the president. Rubinstein hopes to use his position to bridge the “increasing divide in Washington between Republicans and Democrats,” since “the arts help bring people together." (NYT, 3/3/10)

Position 121692 "As chairman of the board of trustees of the Kennedy Center, in Washington, [Schwarzman] shares a box every year with the President and the center’s honorees." (New Yorker, 2/11/08)

Donation/Grant 229346 Schwarzman gave $5 million to support poor students going to Catholic schools in New York City in large part because he admires their management model. “You can fire people,” Mr. Schwarzman said. “It’s nonunion." As the New York Times reports, "Ultimately, [Schwarzman] said that, if replicated, the Catholic school system could 'dramatically change the competitiveness' of the United States." (NYTimes, 2/29/08)

Dan Dan

Donation/Grant 229346 Schwarzman's $5 million gift in 2008 to the Inner-City Scholarship Fund was the largest donation in its history. The Schwarzmans have also sponsored students through the fund since 2003 (NYT, 2/29/08).

Rajiv Kaul "A little more than two years after he moved to Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, US, and then to private equity firm Actis in London, Rajiv Kaul, 39, is back in India in a new avatar. He has tied up with a couple of large private equity players to scout for investment opportunities in India, except that Kaul, who was Microsoft India’s Managing Director until March 2005, isn’t playing native scout. In an interesting and untested model, he expects to be the owner (well, after a fashion at least) of the companies he invests in. He isn’t telling yet who his PE partners are or how exactly the partnership will work, but expect him to play in areas he’s familiar with, which is IT. “For example,” says Kaul, “there are quite a few Tier-II IT companies that haven’t realised their potential because they don’t have the required management bandwidth.” Kaul has no IT services experience, but he’s got the smarts." - Business Today India, 7/9/08

@Dan It doesn't matter, because it looks for fairly loose matches anyway -- the first initial has to match, however. And yes, a complete bio is important so that you know where someone has worked. As for addresses, that's a good idea, we'll implement it when we get the chance.
