Guo Guangchang is the chairman and main founder of Fosun International, one of China's largest privately-owned conglomerates with interests in pharmaceuticals, property, steel, mining, retail, services and strategic investments. The company has become active as a partner for foreign companies looking to expand in China. Fosun bought a 7% stake in Club Mediterranee SA (Club Med) last June and is helping to grow its business in the mainland. In January, it signed a tentative agreement with U.S. insurer Prudential to jointly invest up to $600 million. Holds stake in U.S.-listed Focus Media, the largest outdoor media in China. Fosun Media is a licensing partner of Forbes Media in China. Guo holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and master's degree in business administration both from Fudan University.
