In the public policy sphere, Kirsten Wegner advises clients on matters entailing federal regulation of financial institutions, financial products, and intellectual property. Ms. Wegner provides real-time counseling on legislative risks involved in business models and merges lobbying and litigation strategies to assist clients in solving unique problems. She represents both domestic and international clients, including a foreign embassy.
Ms. Wegner also counsels clients on trademark and copyright enforcement, anti-cybersquatting strategies, electronic commerce, and publishing contracts. Ms. Wegner’s clients in this arena include several nonprofit organizations, a Grammy Award-winning artist, Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, and entertainment industry clients.
Previously, Ms. Wegner worked at a Bangkok, Thailand-based firm, where she helped clients establish joint ventures in Thailand, raise capital, and make initial public offerings. In addition, she helped clients enforce trademark rights in Bangkok and Shanghai. Ms. Wegner was also a visiting scholar at the Shanghai University School of Intellectual Property, where she studied comparative trademark and copyright enforcement.
