Jimmy Williams brings over a decade of legislative and government affairs experience to Ogilvy Government Relations. For five years Mr. Williams served as Senator Durbin's key economic policy advisor. He counseled the Senator on all matters dealing with the business community, including tax, appropriations, and budget issues. During his time with Senator Durbin, Mr. Williams was instrumental in achieving such legislative accomplishments as Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China, CFA Reauthorization, bankruptcy reform and numerous budget resolutions. Also during his tenure on Capitol Hill, Mr. Williams worked as Senator Biden�s Senior Policy Advisor on economic policy and was the Staff Director to the Majority on the Economic Policy Subcommittee of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. Prior to joining Ogilvy Government Relations, Mr. Williams spent a number of years working with the federal government in the private sector. Most recently he held the role as Vice President of Federal Government Affairs at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America. Before that he was with the National Association of REALTORS and the Financial Services Roundtable. In these roles Mr. Williams succeeded in bringing a variety of issues before the federal government.
