Nearly 150 MPs stood down from this election, and many more lost their seats. Most of them will go on to jobs in the private sector, with many retaining the parliamentary passes that allow them to continue treading the corridors of Westminster. As Channel 4's Dispatches programme “Politicians for hire” revealed, many former MPs are eager to sell their privileged access, knowledge and contacts to major lobbying firms that further the interests of their corporate clients. And there are many other new faces in parliament today with PR and corporate lobbying backgrounds. What are their financial interests? On what issues might they be compromised?
