Investigating the country's most prominent corporate lobby
We're researching individuals and organizations affiliated with the Chamber so that we can better understand who really rules the country's most prominent business lobby.
This is a watershed moment for the Chamber, as the group is coming under increasing fire for its stances on a wide range of policy issues, from climate change and healthcare to financial reform and workers' rights. In recent weeks, companies like Apple have severed ties with the Chamber over policy differences.
Which Chamber members actually shape and support these policies? Who will leave the group next? We're working to find out.
*** Current task, 11/10/09: map the work history, other board memberships, and school ties for people on this list of Chamber board members.

attention analysts! you can now write notes to research groups -- once you join the group you can write a note to the group from its home page. we're hoping to facilitate communication between analysts working on the same research project (such as the Obama group, which is delving deep into White House visitor logs.) Other groups include the health care investigative unit, the goldman sachs squad, the bay area research group, and the chamber group. |
